WIFI FAQs
The Wireless service is not completely wireless - due to the panel needing power and a physical connection to the modem there are still some wires involved.
Yes, we would need to do a site survey at the new premises to make sure we have line of sight.
We are currently looking into a self service solution to this, however the system is not currently in place to do this. However we can provide a service where we can switch the connection on/off on a weekly basis.
FIBRE FAQs
DSL is dependent on Telkom copper wire infrastructure, which is often unreliable and can be slow if you have a bad line or are far away from your local exchange, whereas Fibre transmits data with pulses of light over a fibre optical cable. These cables are far more reliable than copper wires and can offer far greater connectivity speeds.
Probably not, as Fibre works very differently to DSL. But you may, in some cases, be able to use your existing WiFi enabled router to spread your Fibre connection via WiFi. This will depend on which router you have and how the provider installs your Fibre line. But don't worry - we will provide a free fibre router...
Confirm that the electricity is turned on, and all your internet and WiFi equipment, including the Optical Network Terminal (ONT), are correctly plugged in and turned on. If the problem persists please contact Maxitec.
MOBILE FAQs
3G can run up to 7.2 Mbps, which means it is slower than the LTE. LTE can be run up to 100 Mbps, which means it is faster than the 3G. 3G is an old technology that has stable, established servers. LTE is a new technology that does not have stable, established servers in it
You need to submit a copy of your ID and your proof of residence. The proof of residence you use must match the address you used to sign up for this service (i.e. the address on your account) or it won't be accepted by RICA. You may choose a different delivery address if you need to

You'll need to supply us with a copy of your Telkom telephone bill (please note that your account needs to be settled, or Telkom will not release your number) and an authorization letter which will be supplied to you

ADSL FAQs
9/10 Times rebooting your ADSL modem will resolve the issue, if this does not solve your issue give us a call or mail us at suppport@maxitec.co.za and we will do a Port Recreate on the line
Yes, however the newer wireless and fibre technologies are replacing ADSL at a alarming rate, and would be better to move to one of these services for faster, more reliable speeds & internet connection
To be able to connect to an ADSL line, you need a Telkom phone line that is not on a prepaid service, then we can apply for ADSL on top of this service. Once installed, you need a ADSL modem with POTS filter to use the ADSL Service
Most ADSL modems are too old to really be compatible with the newer Fibre technology, you will just need a new router/modem. All the rest will be provided by the Fibre supplier on installation

A domain registration fee is charged once-off to register your domain & a renewal fee is charged annually thereafter
If you domain is hosted with us we can point point them all to the same website so that the user is redirected when accessing the alternate domains.
We will need to check if the domain is available, this can be done on our website here If the domain is available, we can start the registration process and get you on your way to owning your new domain
We will need your current domain name, details from your provider for their Cpanel, as well as your email details. This will give us access to import all email as well as the transfer all website data over to our servers. Once completed we will send in the domain transfer for your domain which either you or the current host will need to accept
Yes. You can have your domain and website hosted with us and your mail hosted elsewhere. We can point your website and emails to another provider or do custom DNS entries if you need
